We love living in Columbia. It is a city filled with the wisdom of people who have lived here for generations combined with the youth and optimism of the many students who attend college or university here. Energy fills the air.  Recently, I was downtown scouting locations for an upcoming photo session.  The fading sun painted the sky in such a beautiful  and peaceful way, I had to capture it in these images.

The diversity found in this city where places of learning and worship are plentiful make Columbia interesting and colorful, in addition to the gorgeous sunsets.

Ran across this little acorn on a photo shoot the other day. It had me thinking about all the high school juniors and seniors we are going to be working with in the next few months with our Senior Ambassador Program and Senior Portraits.  Such an exciting time!

Message From A Friend

The Missouri National Guard assists Atchison County authorities with personnel and a UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter to repair levee L550 near Phelps City, Mo., as the fight against the Missouri river flood continues.

A message came from a colleague at the Missouri National Guard the other day that contained a link to the U.S. Army’s 2011 Year In Photos.   An image I made (see above) in June during our coverage of state emergency duty during the beginning of the Missouri River flooding in northwest Missouri made the cut.  It was a reminder of the good things that can be done with a camera.  It was also a reminder of the people that are missed at my soon-to-be previous employer. Conversely, it was a reminder of what we want to continue to do with our cameras at Clever Creek Studio; to capture the poignant moments in people’s lives in images they can share with their family and friends for a lifetime.  We look forward to capturing many images in the coming years. It has been quite a year here in the studio.  Earlier this year, we joined in marriage.

We also made the decision to combine our strengths and talents under the Clever Creek Studio umbrella. We knew it might pose a challenge marketing our business clearly to potential clients.  But we have confidence in the ability of our customers to understand the concept here at Clever Creek.

To be honest though, we are still juggling a few things.

The goal was to give birth to an adventure that allows us to help people utilizing our talents.  Clever Creek Studio is a service-oriented venture first, a creative outlet second, and a haven for our clients that provides fun, artistic experiences, and happy memories.

We want our guests and clients of Clever Creek Studio to feel at “home” when working with us.  We offer potential clients the opportunity to have many needs met in the same place; a one-stop shop of sorts.

 

In the music studio, you can pursue the lifelong dream of learning to sing or play the piano. Maybe you want to introduce your child to the joy of music.  Perhaps you would like to improve your oral presentation skills.  Clever Creek Studio can help you do all those things in our studio or at your home.

This time of year, most of us will gather to celebrate family, faith and community.  Songs are sung and memories made.

At Clever Creek Studio, we like to think that the holiday season mindset is a way of life.  We sing and play music, create memorable events, and record the poignant moments in photo, just like many of your families do at this time of year. The only difference is, we get  to do it year-round!
